Earl Gordon Ambrose

September 26, 1927 ~ August 27, 2016

Earl Ambrose passed away peacefully with his family at his side on August 27, 2016, in Creston Valley Hospital at the age of 88 years.

As a young man Earl drove logging trucks in B.C and later became one of Trimac Transport’s first drivers. He also drove his own truck for Cargill Canada until retiring. He grew up in Piapot, Saskatchewan, lived in the Creston area as a young man, raised his family in Moose Jaw, lived in Maple Creek for a time and then moved back to Erickson/Creston in 1989. A very hard working, principled and honourable man, he was well respected and loved by those who knew him. He valued his friendships greatly, was an avid bowler in Creston as well as Bonners Ferry, and was renowned for sharing his stories and jokes with everyone. Earl will be deeply missed by his family and many friends.

He was pre-deceased by his parents Jack and Isa; brother Stuart; his loving wife Pauline (nee Hook) and his dear friend and companion for many years, Doris Kirkpatrick.

Earl is survived by his brother Robert (Pam) of Turner Valley, AB; nieces Robin and Britney and nephew Brock; brother Stuart’s wife Irene, niece Kelley Stone and nephews Steve, Dave and Doug; daughter Julie Ambrose of Stratford, PEI, grandchildren Shaun Ready and Jenna Ready; son Jeff (Kim) of Okotoks, AB, grandchildren Dorian Ross, Brittany Ambrose and Kenny Ambrose.
