In Loving Memory ~
Dr. Sidney Kettner passed away peacefully, with his family at his side, on May 17, 2024, at the age of 79.
With over 30 years of dedicated service to the community, Dr. Kettner was known not only for his medical expertise but also his genuine compassion, honesty, and loyalty to his patients.
Sid's commitment to serving others extended beyond his thriving medical practice, through his numerous mission trips abroad, where he shared healthy lifestyle education with the local residents. Sid was passionate about healthy living - he loved to run, hike, sail and work in the yard and garden. He loved being outside doing all of these things, but he especially loved the time spent at their home on Kootenay Lake.
Sid lived life with an infectious zeal and enthusiasm.
As a life-long learner, he was compelled to improve the talents he already had, as well as develop new hobbies. He had several recipes that he mastered later in life, and he loved to cook for his family and friends. In addition to learning how to play the saxophone in his forties, he had his last guitar lesson just a couple of weeks before he passed away.
Sid is survived by his beloved wife, Carol, and their four children, Todd (Tara), Greg (Becky), Shawna (Brian) and Jane, as well as five grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and two sisters, Inez Gaull and Sharon Brooks.
His legacy of kindness, dedication, and joy for life will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and the countless patients whose lives he touched.
A Celebration of Dr. Kettner's LIfe will be held on July 21, 2024, at 2:00 pm at the Creston Seventh-day Adventist Church.
