Dorothy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, businesswomen, and musician. She and Whitfield enjoyed spending winters in Hawaii and summers at the Kootenay Lake cabin with friends and family. Dorothy will be missed by all the many family members and friends she touched along the way during her life.

Dorothy was predeceased by her husband John Whitfield Abbott, and six of her brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her brother Mervin Goeson; children Barry Abbott (Marg), Denise Klootwyk (Ray), Susan Pearson (Larry), Jon Abbott (Heidi), and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
