Doreen (Dode) Eleanor Warwick

August 11, 1938 ~ December 16, 2015

Doreen (Dode) Eleanor Warwick of Creston, BC, passed away on December 16, 2015after battling cancer.

Doreen was born August 11, 1938 in High River, AB. In her early years in Alberta she lived in Red Deer, Innisfail, and Rocky Mountain House before moving to Hanna in 1949. It was there she met Wayne Warwick. They were married June 2, 1958. Their marriage was blessed with three children. Dode kept busy taking them to swim meets, hockey games, and dance lessons. Dode was a fabulous cook. Her pies were superb. She loved camping and canoe trips. She was an accomplished dancer, skier, curler, and golfer. She did them at a very fast pace. The word slow did not exist in her vocabulary.

Upon retirement in 2001, she and her husband moved to Creston and built a home. She loved her yard, garden, and flowers, especially the wide variety of roses. It gave her great pleasure to walk out in the yard and pick a ripe peach for breakfast. She was actively involved with the United Church Choir and working as a volunteer at the Wednesday free lunch. Her passing leaves a void in the life of anyone who knew her.

Dode is predeceased by her father Herman Clarke and her mother Opal Clarke.

She is survived by her loving husband Wayne; sons David and Chris; daughter Joanne; brother Nelson; sister Alice; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and a large number of nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a church of your choosing or to the Creston Valley Wildlife Centre, Box 640, Creston, BC, V0B 1G0.
