In loving memory ~
It is with extreme sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Donald Stephen Bullock on March 23, 2022, at age 74.
Missing Don and cherishing his memory are his children Larissa, Travis and Charcy, his grandchildren Kyle, Crista and Shealyn, sisters Kitty, Nancy, Maureen, Diane and Linda, brother Joe, best friend Kiondra, as well as his many nieces and nephews and their families. Preceding him in death were his mother Margaret, father Steve, brothers Brian and Mark.
Don was born in Kimberly, British Columbia, on June 11, 1947, and raised in Creston. The peace and quiet of the valley, abundance of nature and outdoor activities was to shape a lifetime of wilderness experiences complementing his dream vocation.
Throughout his career as a Canadian Wildlife Guide, Don embraced opportunities to travel the world including visits to Siberia, Mongolia, and the United States.
Don loved to take family and friends out into the wilds, teaching them his tracking skills and knowledge of the layout of the land. At the end of the day, he could be counted on for his story telling.
In retirement Don continued his love of the outdoors, photography, writing, and painting. He could often be found travelling the Kootenay river on his much-loved houseboat. Don was constantly expanding his mind with the writings of the great scholars and philosophers, and teachings of many cultures.
Don adored his children and grandchildren, whom he made his first priority, instilling in them his great appreciation for nature and devotion to family.
Don touched the lives of many. He was a bright spark in this world and will be deeply missed.
A celebration of Don's life will be held at a later date.
