August 2, 1949 - September 1, 2019
With deep sadness the family of Don Brown announces the passing of their beloved Husband, Father, and Grandfather on Sunday, September 1, 2019 at the age of 72. Don was born and raised in Tisdale, Saskatchewan, the eldest of 5 brothers. His post secondary training as an X-ray Technician was at the University Hospital in Saskatoon. Graduation lead to his first position in Vegreville, Alberta. In May of 1970 he married his high school sweetheart, Carol. Their next adventure took them to Capetown, South Africa, spending a year working and travelling.
Don always loved the mountains and was offered a position at the Creston Valley Hospital, remaining there until his retirement.
Don was a devoted family man and the family enjoyed many camping, skiing, fishing and holiday trips. He was actively involved in the sporting activities of his sons, Christopher and Joshua.
An avid reader, Don could always find a spot for a new book in his extensive library. He loved hunting whether it was home in the Kootenays or with his 'Saskatchewan Family' of hunters. He always looked forward to the whitetail hunting trips on the prairies and had many fond memories of the good times with friends in Radisson.
Don was pre-deceased by his parents Walter and Theresa, brothers Barrie and Garnet, sister-in-law Audrey, and father-in-law Norman, and best friends Laszlo and Ron.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 49 years, Carol, sons Christopher and Joshua, Granddaughters Avrianna and Emmelyn and their mother Jenna, brothers David and Robin and their families, mother-in-law Mary, and all who knew and loved him.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, September 21, 2019, 11:00 at the Royal Canadian Legion in Creston. Donations in his honor can be made to a charity of your choice.
