Dominic Pascuzzo

September 30, 1912 ~ February 17, 2011

Dominic Pascuzzo passed away after a short illness on February 17, 2011 in the Swan Valley Lodge Creston, BC at the age of 98 years.

Dominic was born to parents Maria and Santo Pascuzzo on September 30, 1912 at their family home in Sirdar, BC. With his family arriving here in 1898, he was a true pioneer of the valley.

His time in Sirdar was spent improving the farm by helping build and maintain rock walls, carving out a flume irrigation system, raising cattle, and generously sharing his produce and eggs.

Along with working on the family farm, Dominic also worked as the Sirdar Postmaster, at the Wynndel Co-op and as a fire warden for the area.

Dominic married Rose Cillis on July 1, 1944 at Creston, BC.

Dominic had many interests, which included gardening. He was an excellent gardener, known for his tomatoes, peppers, prunes and maglio plums. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, rodeos and dogs.

Dominic treasured the time that he got to spend with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Dominic was predeceased by his parents Maria and Santo Pascuzzo; brother Jim Pascuzzo; sisters Lucy Pascuzzo, Rose McDonald and Nora Kennedy.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 66 years, Rose; sons Sandy (Jane) of Sirdar and Michael (May) of Sirdar; four grandchildren, Rena Pascuzzo (Rod), Rona Jackson (Doug), Laura Smith (Trent) and Tony Pascuzzo; five great-grandchildren, Dominic, Kyle, Reed, Cole and Marianna; sisters Carmela Wood, Ann Pascuzzo and Irene VanIderstine; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and their families.

A Private Family Celebration of Life Service to be held at a later date.
