Dennis James Vandeberg "Denny" passed away peacefully in his home at 2:45 pm, May 17, 2013 at Creston, BC, Canada.

Denny was born Oct 21,1941 in Williston, North Dakota to James and Bernice Vandeberg. Denny was a brother to four siblings: Joy, Glen, Ray and twin sister DeAnn. Denny grew up in a rural farming community of Bainville, MT where he attended school. After graduation, Denny stayed for a short time and worked with his dad on the farm. Later, Denny resided in Great Falls, MT, Eureka, MT, Whitetail, MT and Creston, BC.

Denny was enlisted in the USA army for a short time and received an "Honorable Discharge" Feb 5, 1964. Throughout his life Denny was multi-talented in the work force: barber, construction, fire dispatcher, truck driver hauling timber, Cenex Manager, Immigration Officer for USA Dept of Justice. Denny's passions in life were: horses and rodeo, good ole country and western music, "the cowboy way of life", hunting and the outdoors, and his quarter horse driving team Spook and Spirit.

Denny's spiritual gift from God was "Discernment". Denny was loved by all that knew him for his jokes, quick wit and story-telling ability. He retired in 2003 and one year later settled in Creston , BC with his wife Theresa, nestled at the base of the Skimmerhorn Mts. Maintaining his USA citizenship, Denny also became a permanent resident of Canada in April 2004. He loved to sing, dance and wished he had learned to play a musical instrument in his lifetime. He lived a full and blessed life and was surrounded by great friends and neighbors!

Denny is predeceased by his parents James and Bernice; brother Ray, brother Glen, several beloved friends: Arvin Otter, Hugh Blosser, Bob Arrotta, Marlene Cooper, and Carl and Irma Smithers.

Denny is survived by his wife Theresa Vandeberg of Creston, BC; step-daughter Kaylee Polzin (Chad) of Creston, BC; twin sister DeAnn Larson (Arlen) of Port Orchard, WA; sister Joy Nesseth (Murel) of Port Orchard, WA; previous wife Pat Mahler of Scobey, MT; sons Shawn Vandeberg (Carrie) of Eureka, MT, Brady Vandeberg (Melissa) of Lusk, Wyoming; four grandchildren: Mikayla, Nikoda, Zach and Savana, and several nieces and nephews.

Denny did not wish any funeral services, however there will be a Celebration of Life Gathering at his home in the summer of 2013. Notices will be sent out.

Denny was also known as "Slim" and will be greatly missed by his wife Theresa.

Captured on electronic recording, some of Denny's final words before passing away were: "Goodnight my all.......goodnight everybody I love, I thank you all so very, very much! I pray tonight for everybody......goodnight."
