David was born and educated in Huddersfield, England. He chose Sheet Metal work as a trade. He married Avril Robinson in 1956. In 1957 they emigrated to Canada and settled in Edmonton, Alberta.
David decided to upgrade his education, so he took some Grade 11 and Grade 12 subjects at Alberta College which at the same time was sponsored by the United Church. The Alberta Government was offering scholarships to encourage Trades men to qualify as teachers in High Schools which offered to teach Trades as well as academic subjects. David was accepted at the University of Alberta and graduated with a B.ED in Vocational Education after 1 year full time and some summer courses. After teaching Sheet Metal and Draughting in a high school for 2 years he became an Instructor at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology. In 1976, he transferred to S.A.I.T and worked a total of 25 years at N.A.I.T and S.A.I.T. before he retired in 1993.
While he lived in Calgary he was appointed as the Minister of the Calgary First Spiritualist Church. This was a volunteer position. He was also a Psychic Medium and taught Mediumship Development classes at the Church. He was married to his wife for 63 years and is also survived by two daughters and three granddaughters. No Funeral by request. A Memorial Service at Calgary First Spiritualist Church to be arrange at a later date.
