In Loving Memory ~

Clayton Keith Kisling passed away peacefully on March 24, 2024, in Kitchener, BC, at 75. Born on July 20, 1948, in Winnipeg, MB, Clayton's life was marked by his dedication to his craft and his love for the natural world.

Clayton's journey in craftsmanship began at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT), where he studied carpentry, a skill that would define his professional life. His expertise and leadership qualities led him to become a foreman on numerous large-scale construction projects. Later, he became a respected construction contractor throughout the Creston Valley.

Beyond his professional achievements, Clayton was a man of many interests. He had an enduring love for the outdoors, evident in his bird-watching passion. Clayton also had a soft spot for cats, and he could often be found with a feline friend purring contentedly in his lap and a good book in his hands.

Those who knew Clayton will remember him as handy, funny, and interesting. His quick wit could lighten the mood of any gathering, and his stories, often sprinkled with humour, captivated listeners of all ages.

Clayton's hands were rarely still, always tinkering, fixing, or creating, and his mind was just as active, always curious and eager to learn something new.

His friends and loving daughters, Shannon Abell and Christina Kisling, and his adored grandchildren, Sarah and Nicholas Abell, will cherish Clayton's memory. His presence in their lives was a source of adventure and humour.

As we bid farewell to Clayton, we celebrate a life well-lived, marked by the love he shared, the work he accomplished, and his readiness to lend a helping hand.

He will be deeply missed, but the stories of his life will continue to bring smiles to our faces.
