Clarance Edgar Edey passed away at his residence, Swan Valley Lodge on May 12, 2010 at the age of 93 years.

Clarance was born on January 30, 1917 in Wellwood, MB to parents Frances & Alexander Edey.

In 1928 Clarance moved to Spirit River, Ab with his parents and five siblings from Wellwood, MB, where his parents setup homesteading.

He married the love of his life Lena Brummund on November 15, 1940. Clarance also served in the Canadian Army for four years, during which time he was blessed with two daughters. Once he was completed his service in the Candian Army, Clarance farmed in Spirit River area and drove the school bus to supplement income, three more children were born in this time. The family moved to Grande Prairie, AB where Clarance worked at Canfor as a saw sharpener for fifteen years. In 1983 they retired to Creston, BC where he resided until his passing. Dad was very involved with church activities, UFA, curling club and was the community barber.

Clarance was predeceased by his wife Lena in 2002, grandson Darren in 1990, siblings George, Morley, Agnes and Kathleen, sister and brother in-laws Barbara Edey, Jean Edey, Albert Hannah, and Hieni Germann, Elmer & Hazel Brummund, Alvin Brummund, and Marvin Brummund.

He will be forever loved by his five children Catherine (George) Cairns, Margaret (Richard) Pickering, Gordon (Lillian), Darlene (Marvin) Thiessen, James (Sandra), ten grandchildren, twenty two great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren, as well as brothers Reg, Francis (Emma), Roy (Judy) and sister-in-law Doreen (Arne) Labrentz.

A Funeral Service was held on Saturday May 15, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Erickson Evangelical Covenant Church with Pastor Doug Stapleton officiating. Interment to take place at a later date in Bridgeview Cemetery, AB.
