Clara Rushka passed away on July 4, 2018 at Crest View Care Village in Creston, British Columbia at the age of 96 years.
Clara was born on July 8, 1921 on her family's homestead in Saskatchewan. She attended a one-room schoolhouse in Saskatchewan.
Clara married Len Rushka in September of 1941 and their honeymoon was at the R.C.A.F Base in Manitoba. Len and Clara had 5 children, 12 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild. Clara was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion for 60 plus years. She served wherever she was needed, most often as ministerial assistant.
She was predeceased by her husband Leonard Jacob Rushka on June 16, 2004.
Clara is survived by her five children: Dale (Helen) of Abbotsford, BC, Janeen (Gordon) of Creston, BC, Gwen (Wayne) of Sundre, AB, Estelle (Bruce) of Winnipeg, MB, and Brett (Gaye) Wymark, SK; and numerous grandchildren and relatives.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday July 16, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Crest View Care Village in the "Town Square', 800 Cavell Street, Creston, BC.
