Clara Boese Elliott

April 29, 1960 ~December 5, 2012

Clara Boese Elliott was born on April 29, 1960 to Alvin and Esther Friesen Boese in Abbotsford, BC. She departed this earthly life at age 52 in a tragic vehicle accident on December 5, 2012 near Cranbrook, BC.

Clara’s arrival in the family brought much happiness, especially to her only sister. At the age of one, she and her family moved to Linden, AB. She started school in Linden, and in 1968 when she was in grade 3, the family moved to Pincher Creek where she spent happy carefree years growing up with her sister and four older brothers. Being the youngest in the family, she was a special joy with her sunshiny personality. She gave her heart to Jesus in her early teens, and faithfully served Him all her life. She was baptized March 18, 1974 becoming a member of the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite. She was a happy and conscientious Christian, always wanting to do what was right. Clara’s loving and unselfish personality shone through in the jobs she pursued and she won many friends. She especially loved her elderly care clients, the ones she cleaned houses for.

On October 14, 1989 Clara married Howard Elliott at Pincher Creek. They shared 23 happy years together. She was a wonderful wife and mother, caring lovingly and giving unselfishly for the good of her family. Clara’s support to her husband was a joy that he will continue to treasure. She enjoyed her children and taught them the Christian way. Four and one half years ago, Howard and Clara and their family moved to beautiful Creston, BC where they made many dear and precious friends.

Clara was warm and outgoing, and brought sunshine and happiness wherever she went. She loved to share a good laugh with friends. She extended

herself to others unselfishly by cooking delicious meals for company; or by sharing freshly baked food with a smile and a hug to someone in need. Her nieces and nephews remember with pleasure how she loved to tease them, bounce their babies on her lap, or appear with a surprise poppy seed cake for their birthdays. She was blessed with an ability to live above life’s difficulties.

Clara’s endearing ways brought many smiles and much pleasure. We mourn her untimely passing, but have confidence she is at rest in the Lord, and look forward to a glad reunion day.

Those left to treasure sweet and precious memories are her husband, Howard; three children: Josh, Brittany and Brandon; mother Esther Boese of Pincher Creek, AB; sister Inez (Henry) Enns of Linden, AB; three brothers, Roy (Barbara) Boese; Ron (Lola) Boese, all of Pincher Creek, AB; and Leonard (Darlene) Boese of Lethbridge, AB; sister-in-law Lorna (Tony) Wohlgemuth of Delisle, SK; father-in-law Lance Elliott (Shelley) of Canal Flats, BC; mother-in-law Bernice Blair of Sundre, AB; stepfather Rick (Karen) Mintz of Prince George, BC; and sister-in-law Karla Elliott of Okotoks; and other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.

Preceding her in death are her father Alvin, brother Gordon and nephew Bruce.

Funeral Services were held Friday, December 14, 2012 at Creston and District Community Complex, Creston, BC with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
