Catherine Tessman

Catherine (Rena) Tessman passed away suddenly on November 20, 2012 in the Creston Valley at the age of 9åç0 years.


Rena married Michael Pawelko in Calgary, AB and together they moved to northern Alberta where they operated a Case dealership. Rena later married David Tessman. They moved to High River, AB, where they resided for several years before moving to Creston, BC, making Arrowcreek, BC and later Erickson, BC, their home.


Rena enjoyed all her family, grandchildren and great- grandchildren. She spent endless hours crafting and tried her hand at any project. She truly enjoyed her knitting needles and refused to send you home without a scarf, a pair of slippers, or an afghan. Rena was a member of T.A.P.S. and she always looked forward to their special events and outings. She made many new friends and spoke highly of the people and organizers involved with the T.A.P.S. association. Krafty Kronys were also a special part of her group. Rena also made awesome bread, cinnamon rolls and enjoyed her garden and flowers.


Rena was predeceased by her mother and father, William and Isabella Norton; sister Faye; two granddaughters Lynne and Diane; husband David Tessman; daughter-in-law Renee and daughter Faye.

She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Belle Daignault (Wally McDevitt), Dodie Smith, Doris (Joe) Daignault, Maxine (Dan) Gaudry, Bev August, Eileen (Jerry) Klassen, Emily Wilson and Grace Tessman; sons John ( MaryNell) Pawelko and Marx (Lisa) Tessman; brother Bud Norton; twenty grandchildren and twenty-five great-grandchildren.


A Memorial Tea was held on Saturday November 24, 2012 from 2:00 – 4:00 at the Royal Canadian Legion.

Interment of Ashes to take place at a later date.
