In Loving Memory ~
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Carey "Rick" Dean Richard Weiberg on February 17, 2022, at Creston, BC at the age of 61 years. Rick's battle with pulmonary fibrosis ended, surrounded by loved ones, his children Chris, Danielle, and Taylor, sister Rhonda, and dear friend Jen.
Rick was born on June 25, 1960, to parents Donna and Richard Weiberg at Creston, BC. Rick had many friends and was always seen having fun and often pushing the limits. Later in life, he joined his father in the family business in cabinetry, eventually taking it over.
When not in "the shop", he could be found at the golf course, hockey rink, ballpark, or at the river with his partner of 20 years, Jen and his dogs. Rick treasured the little things in life; moments, stories, and laughter - things we could all learn a lesson from.
At 61 years of age, Rick did not get to enjoy his retirement, however, he was never bitter about it as he took shots in life as they came and made the best out of every situation. Rick was a man of few words, so when he spoke up, everyone listened.
His last words were telling his children how proud he was and how much he loved his family. An amazing father who always had the answer, Rick always gave more that he received. He was a truly selfless man who dedicated his life to giving the very best life to his family.
Rick will be lovingly remembered by his children Danielle Weiberg, Chris (Roxie) Weiberg, Neva (Anna) Bassingthwaite, and Taylor (Dylan) Bassingthwaite, grandchildren Lucas, Rebecca, Marcus, and Theo, parents Richard and Donna Weiberg, sisters Rhonda (Grant) Ludwar and Rhea (Art) Blobel, as well as many friends and family.
Rick was predeceased by his partner Jennifer Bassingthwaite.
No Celebration of Life Service will be held at this time.
In lieu of flowers, friends wishing to make a memorial contribution may do so in Ricks name to the Cabinetry & Joiner Bursary. For information on how to donate please contact at rcwwoodcraftbursary@gmail.com
