Brigitte Marianne Michalke

Brigitte Marianne Michalke passed away after a lengthy illness on Friday May 6, 2016 in Creston, BC at the age of 82.
Brigitte was born in Helmstedt, Germany on March 30, 1934. Brigitte immigrated to Canada with her fiancé Herb to Saskatoon in 1953. She married Herbert W. Michalke on June 5, 1954 and they then moved to Lake Cowichan and Victoria. They then moved to Creston in 1956.
Brigitte was an active member of the Erickson Hospital Auxiliary, the Lady Kiwanis. She also served on the board of Creston Home Support Society and volunteered for other local charities. She was a member of the Scleroderma Association of BC and she worked with Creston members to further awareness of Scleroderma.
She is predeceased by her parents Reinhold and Hermine Grabareck of Creston, BC; brother Arno and his wife Christel of Penticton and Creston, BC; and sister Annemarie and her husband Hans Philipp of Creston, BC.
She is survived by her daughters Karen Klein, Victoria Renneberg, Marleen Hoag (Allen), Sonya Flanders (Dave); grandchildren Aaron Hackl, Taya Patterson, Jenna McKeachie, Geordon Hoag, Rachel Richards, Jacob and Lucas Flanders; great-grandchildren Theo and Sloane Patterson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held on May 20, 2016 at 11am at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Creston, BC, with Pastor Doug Stapleton officiating.
