Brian Anderson

September 19, 1958 ~ December 5, 2010

It is with profound sorrow the family of Brian Anderson would like to announce his sudden passing at his home on Sunday, December 5, 2010 at the age of 52 years.

Brian was born on September 19, 1958 in Nelson, BC to Shirley and Garry Anderson and was the eldest of five children. Brian attended school in Salmo, Wynndel and Creston.

Brian married Vicki Woykin on June 23, 1979, and the couple celebrated 31 years of happy marriage. They lived in Creston, moving to Castlegar for a short time and returning to Creston to raise their two boys, Michael (26) and Mark (21).

Brian started working at a young age at numerous jobs. He later found his passion and began his career as a truck driver. He had a lengthy career with Columbia Brewery in Creston delivering beer around the Kootenays.

Brian was a hardworking, dedicated, family man, who loved to laugh, helped others, and was loved by many. Brian always gave his best and his life was an inspiration. Brian’s hobbies included fishing and boating on Kootenay Lake, bonfires, his Harley Davidson motorcycle, going to the casino, watching the business market, looking for entrepreneurial opportunities, and watching his favorite hockey team, the Vancouver Canucks. The most important part of Brian’s life was and will always be his family.

He was predeceased by his father Garry Anderson.

He will lovingly be remembered and survived by his wife Vicki; sons Michael and Mark; mother Shirley Anderson; grandparents Olive and Michael Schulz; sister Donna (Tom) Dobko; brothers Keith (Carol), Darrell, Ken (Sherry); nieces Kayla, Ashley, Brooke, Lisa; nephews Sam, Brock, Brett, Robert, Joseph; mother-in-law Mabel Bonderove; brother-in-law Bob (Shannon) Woykin, along with numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins, together with special close friends who are like family.

Honourary Pallbearers are all of Brian’s family and friends who will miss him dearly.

Celebration of Life Service was held on Saturday December 11, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church, with Pastor Harry Haberstock officiating, fellowship and refreshments at the Creston Valley Curling Club served by the Redeemer Lutheran Ladies.

Cremation and a Private Family Entombment of Ashes held at Bella Columbarium in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Erickson, BC.
