Beverly Louise Hokins (Romano)
Beverly Louise Hokins (Romano) age 84, passed away at Swan Valley Lodge on January 16, 2012.
She was born in Creston and moved to the U.S. in 1949, and returned to Creston in 1989. She was employed as a cook at many businesses in the area, after retiring from a business that she had managed in Salton City, California.
Bev was a kind, caring person with a great sense of humor. Her interests were cooking, bingo and bowling.
She was predeceased by her husband Vernon; her parents Joseph Sr. and Tress Romano; her sister Gloria; her brother Roy and her son-in-law James.
She is survived by two daughters, Audrey Simmons of Fort Mohave, AZ and Marian (Gerald) Herter of Medicine Hat, AB; six grandchildren, Mark, Gary and Nicole of Las Vegas, NV, and Derek, Jason and Robin of Medicine Hat; seven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; brothers Lawrence, Joseph Jr., Garry, Mervin and Robert; sisters Lorraine, Gail and Sharon, and many nephews and nieces.
Bev will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at Glad Tidings Church on May 12, 2012 at 11 a.m. with her nephew Pastor Shaun Romano officiating.
There will be a gathering of friends and family at the church after the service.
Interment of Ashes to follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Erickson, BC.
