Nov 14, 1924 - Mar 9, 2018
Betty Bongers passed peacefully on March 9, 2018 with her daughters Karen, Brenda and step-daughter Elly at her side.

Betty was christened Mary Elizabeth Crawford and was born in Trail, BC November 14, 1924. She worked for the C.M.& S in Trail at the early age of 17.

Betty married Allan Davis on January 17, 1944 and moved to Creston where they managed a 10 acre tulip & daffodil bulb farm. She later juggled as bookkeeper for A.E. Davis Construction while managing the City Centre Motel. Betty was also a teller for the Creston & District Credit Union in the years to come. She worked hard while she raised her four children, Neil, Lynn, Karen and Brenda.

Betty later married Bill Bongers on August 1, 1998 who brought with him the addition of eight wonderful step-daughters into Betty's life.

With Bill by her side she danced in the moonlight, travelled to Scotland and Holland as well as made many memories as they travelled BC, Alberta and Saskatchewan in their motorhome.

Betty's greatest joy was her family with its many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a most loved Aunt to all her nieces and nephews.

Betty is survived by her loving husband and travel partner Bill Bongers; Betty's children: Neil (Heather), Lynn (Brian), Karen (Mel) and Brenda (Greg); step-daughters: JoAn (Kevin), Elly (Dale), Janet (Randy), Marian (Don), Nancy (Lloyd), Linda (Drew), Debbie (Dennis), Donna (Jason), many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Betty is now reunited with her Mom, Dad, brother David, sisters Emma and Agnes, and first husband Allan.

Our family wishes to thank Swan Valley Lodge and its staff for their exceptional care and love over the years. "Betty kept them on their toes and laughing with her unique sense of humour" and adopted each of them as her own. Also special thanks to Dr. Le Roux.

In lieu of flowers, donations would be gratefully accepted for the MS Society.

It was Betty's wish for all to celebrate her life by remembering her with joy and laughter!

A celebration of her life will take place the evening of May 12, 2018, at the Seniors Hall at 810 Canyon St., Creston.

We invite friends to join our family in our celebration of Betty's remarkable life.
