Betty Amas passed away peacefully at Swan Valley Lodge on December 23, 2018 in her 91st year.

Betty was born in Leslie, SK to Thomas and Steina Leader on May 26, 1927. She attended Mt Hecla school in Elfros, SK and it was in Elfros that she met and married her husband, Charles Amas. Betty was first and foremost a wife, mother and grandmother whose hobbies included baking, knitting, sewing and bingo. After she and Charles moved to Canyon, BC she became active in the Canyon UCW, Busy Bees and curling. She was an Auxiliary Member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 28.

Betty is predeceased by her husband of 51 years, Charles Amas, son-in-law Phil Lindsay and numerous other family members.

She is survived by her children Sharon Lindsay, Shirley (Charles) Dupras, Diana (Don) Halliday, Greg (Donna) Amas, Brenda (Barry) Bullock; grandchildren Clayton (Laurette) Dupras, Tracy (Shawn) Marlow, Lee (Shanda) Dupras, Brent (Jodi) Halliday, Warren (Caitlyn) Amas, Tiffany (Allan) McKay, Josh (Vanessa) Bullock, Colin (Frankie) Bullock, Jordan (Jen) Amas; 19 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and three sisters-in-law.

A service for Betty will be held at G F Oliver Funeral Chapel in Creston, BC on Friday January 11, 2019 at 10 am, with Pastor Tom Greentree Officiating.
