In Loving Memory

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Arleane Ethyl McDonald on May 17, 2025, at the age of 91. Arleane was born on November 22, 1933, in Luseland, Saskatchewan and grew up during the war years with six siblings. After leaving home she moved to Vancouver where she worked at the Orpheum Theatre and sang with the Vancouver Opera. She trained as a bookkeeper and moved to Edmonton, where she met her beloved husband of 60 years, Dennis. They stayed in Alberta for some years, moving to Nelson in the late seventies, then to the Creston Valley in 1999. Active in community events, flyfishing and golf, Arleane and Dennis spent their later years pursuing many interests, travelling abroad, and visiting with family and friends.

Arleane believed strongly in community and carried a passion for family throughout her life.

She was a talented wildlife artist, singer, and played organ and guitar. She is survived by her son Darcy, daughter-in-law Anne-Marie, and grand-daughter Andrea.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Memorial donations may be made to The Alzheimer Society of BC, Suite 300 - 828 W. 8th Ave., Vancouver, BC, V5Z 1E2.

Thank you to everyone for your thoughts and prayers for Arleane and the McDonald Family.
