Anne (Gartland) Forrester
January 21, 1916 ~ August 29, 2010
Anne Forrester passed away peacefully on Sunday August 29, 2010 at Jubilee Manor, Nelson B.C. in her 95th year, having lived in her Harrop home until April with her devoted daughter Diana.
She was born in Grong Norway, eldest child of Sofie (Hansdatter) & Johannes
Gartland. The family immigrated in 1918, later settling in Canyon in 1922. After attending the Trail Business College, Anne married John Forrester of Nelson in June 1946. They resided at Waneta Junction for over 25 years. Since 1950 their Harrop cottage was a retreat for family & friends.
Her memory will be cherished by her family: Diana Forrester, John (Darlene) Forrester; siblings: Henry (Eileen) Gartland of Burnaby, Jenny (Vic dec.) Moberg of Kuskanook, Ruby (Walter dec.) Nygaard of Victoria, Sweyn (Diane) Gartland of Canyon, & their families.
She was predeceased by brothers Sidney Gartland and Jim Gartland, and husband John AW Forrester.
A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday October 10, 2010 12:30p.m. at the Harrop Hall.
