Anna Purves

Anna Purves (nee Nahaiowski) was born and raised in Thorhild, Alberta and passed away suddenly at home in Creston on February 18, 2012.

Anna was predeceased by her husband Tom and by siblings Mike, Irene, John, Nan, and Eva.

Anna is survived by her children Tom (Brenda) of Ottawa, ON, Theresa (Lance Thomas) of Houston, TX and James (Joyce) of La Corey, AB; her grandchildren TJ (Alexandra) of Jakarta Indonesia, Jennifer of Ottawa, Kyle of Ottawa, Kurt of Toronto, Sagan of Calgary, Romney and Shelby of Houston, and great-grandchildren Owen and Paige of Ottawa. She is survived by siblings Mary, Kay, Peter (Amy), Polly, Harold (Anne), numerous nieces and nephews, and grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

Anna graduated from teachers' college and began her teaching career in Edmonton where she met her husband Tom. They were married in Edmonton on July 27, 1956. Anna and Tom moved frequently due to Tom’s military career and they retired in Creston in 1990. Creston quickly became home; they became active members of the community, developing many close friends and neighbours. Anna enjoyed golf and curling, and was an active member of Christ Church Anglican and the Eastern Star.

Anna will be greatly missed but never forgotten.

The Funeral was held at Christ Church Anglican on February 25, 2012 at 11:00 am with Reverend Robin Celiz officiating. A private family Interment of Ashes to take place at a later date in the Lister Anglican All Saints Cemetery, Lister, BC.
