Alvin was born in Barney, North Dakota. At one year of age his family moved to Alberta. In his teenage years his family relocated to Creston, British Columbia.
At 21 years old Alvin married Lola. Almost immediately after he was sent overseas to war, leaving behind one daughter, Damaris. Upon his return three more children were born; Maurice, Penny and Mark.
Alvin was self-employed in the logging industry, grocery stores, and many other business enterprises. He was a member of the Legion. He was a devoted and loving husband as well as father and grandfather.
Alvin is predeceased by his wife Lola, brother Marshall, sister Dorothy, and granddaughters Sarah and Cayla.
He is survived by his four children: Damaris, Maurice, Penny, and Mark; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A Graveside Service was held at Forest Lawn Cemetery at 9:30am; A Funeral Service was held at Creston and District Community Complex on Saturday November 12, 2016 at 11:00am. Officiating was Paul Dicaire, Pierre Dicaire and Jesse McFaddan. Any memorial contributions may be made to the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation.
