Alfred (Fred) Richard Jones

Alfred (Fred) Richard Jones passed away suddenly on September 5, 2014 in the Creston Valley Hospital at the age of 75 years.
Fred was born to parents Richard and Evelyn Jones on August 19, 1939 in Nelson, BC.
Fred worked for the Government of BC for over twenty-five years. He was a very committed member of the community, being involved with several different organizations such as the Canyon-Lister Fire Department - being the Chief for twenty-one years, Creston Valley Search and Rescue, Regional District Planning Commission, the Airport Society and Creston Valley Thunder Cats – as a trainer.
Fred was predeceased by his sister, Margaret Anne Furber.
He will be dearly missed by his loving partner Betty; his three children, Tammy, Stephen and Shawna; three step-children, Robert (Helen), Brenda (Joe) Wilkie and James; nine grandchildren, Jeremy, Sebastian, Charity, Amy, Danica, Brayden, Jyotish, Shalini and Anthony and four great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Hannah, Aiden and Asher.
A Celebration of Life Service to be held on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Canyon Hall with Pastor Harry Haberstock officiating.
