Creston's RCMP detachment is located on 16th Avenue South.

Two males were injured, one seriously, when their van was sideswiped on 10th Avenue North on Friday.

One was transported to Cranbrook hospital, from which he will be released in a few days, and the other was flown to Calgary, where he remains in stable condition.

“It must have been an awful crash,” RCMP Staff Sergeant Bob Gollan said on Monday. “The men were bleeding badly and trapped in their vehicle, which was upside down from the impact.”

Gollan said a female driver was behind the wheel of a pickup truck that entered 10th Avenue North from Hillside Street.

“The truck had concrete blocks in the box for winter traction,” Gollan said. “This is never a good idea because the blocks turn into projectiles upon impact and who knows where they will end up.”

The investigation has continues and no charges have been laid to date.
