What police thought last week was a simple answer about untraceable 911 calls hasn’t turned out to be as effective as they had hoped.

Creston RCMP received another eight calls from several different cell towers last week, all of which were from cellphones no longer connected to a service plan and therefore impossible to trace back to the caller.

“I guess we just keep trying,” Staff Sgt. Bob Gollan sighed on Monday.
