The Town of Creston and the Community Fire Hall Advisory Select Committee (ASC) will hold a final Open House on October 2, 2018, to provide information and help answer questions about the upcoming Borrowing Referendum for a new Fire Hall.

The event, which will be held at the Creston & District Community Complex, will feature two presentations by BC-based FireWise Consulting Ltd.’s Ernie Polsom, as well as an open mike session in which residents may ask questions pertaining to the Referendum and the Fire Hall of Polsom, Town of Creston staff and ASC members.

“We’ve received some very productive comments and questions from citizens this summer, at our first Open Houses in June and at our booth at the Farmers’ Markets and the Creston Valley Fall Fair,” says Interim Chief Administrative Officer, Mike Moore.

“This Open House will give residents the opportunity to learn more and ask questions about the Fire Hall and the Borrowing Referendum. Our goal is that when our citizens go to the polls on October 20, they feel that they have all of the knowledge that they need to make informed decisions.”

The Open House will be held Tuesday, October 2 from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. in the Creston Room at the Creston & District Community Complex; presentations will be held at 4:00 and 6:30 p.m.

Advance Voting Dates for the election are Wednesday, October 3, 2018, 8:00 am to 8:00 pm, at Town Hall (Council Chambers); and Wednesday, October 10, 2018, 8:00 am to 8:00 pm, at Town Hall (Council Chambers).
