The PCSS senior boys’ volleyball team came on strong in their first day of provincial championships yesterday in Langley, British Columbia.

“Apparently the boys like to keep it close and keep their fans on edge,” said Coach Ki Louie.

The boys came back from a deficit every single set to win all three games against Lambrick Park (Vancouver Island), Princess Margaret (Penticton) and finally Revelstoke which was the only game that went to three sets for a clean sweep of victories.

Ryley Ducharme, who is playing in his third provincial volleyball championship series said he was incredibly proud of their team. “We played strong, and even when we were down in points, our momentum kept going. Nothing was going to stop us!” said a breathless Ducharme moments after the game. “Everyone gave their all today.”

Andre Beaucher was a whirlwind force to be reckoned with.

“Andre came out swinging! That is what I like to see! Our outside hitters were outstanding today.” exclaimed coach Louie.

An excellent first day for the Creston team. The PCSS senior boys’ volleyball team will play again Thursday at 9:00 am.

The PSCC senior girls volleyball team will begin their championship tournament Thursday in Burnaby.
