The second annual Scarecrow Festival took place Sept. 3-7 in conjunction with the Creston Valley Fall Fair.
Local businesses in Creston, local artists and community non-profit organizations displayed handmade scarecrows and displays along Canyon Street, 10th Avenue North and in the Creston and District Community Complex.
“We wanted to entice Creston Valley residents and visitors to enjoy the festive atmosphere created by the display of scarecrows,” said Brenda Brucker, a member of the Creston Valley Arts Council.”
Residents were able to vote for their favourite scarecrows at the Creston Valley Chamber of Commerce and Wloka Fruit Stand until Saturday.
The winners this year are as follows:
• Display: Sue’s Clothesline
• Business: Kunze Gallery
• Individual: Jeanine, Carmen and Elaine
• Community non-profit organization: Trinity United Church
