The Canyon-Lister Fire Department with the assistance of the Creston Fire Rescue, Wynndel Lakeview Fire, RCMP, BC Ambulance, and Fortis responded to a house fire in Lister on May 22, 2018.
No one was injured in the fire, however, the fire resulted in significant property damage leaving Lister resident Aloha Palmer and her family homeless.
Merrill Palmer took to Facebook to thank everyone who assisted in putting out the fire.
“The community has been incredibly kind and generous in helping us through this. A big thank you” Palmer told the Advance. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, and undetermined at this time. (
