Last week police received a complaint from a Creston Cab customer reporting the driver was intoxicated during their fare. Police located the driver who was still operating the cab. The driver was given a roadside breath test which he failed and was given a 90-day driving suspension.

The Advance reached out to Kevin Foley co-owner of Creston Cab for his reaction to the incident.

“We were shocked and surprised by the outcome of events. When we hire a driver we do complete criminal record and reference checks on every driver. This was an unfortunate incident that was intercepted at the right time and thankfully no one got hurt. That’s the silver lining in this unfortunate situation.” said Foley. “Public safety is number one. We’re sorry for the inconvenience this has caused the community of Creston.”

The driver has since been suspended from Creston Cab.

“We care for our employees and will ensure this driver gets any help he may need. This is our 5th year in Creston and this is in no way a reflection of Creston Cab.”

In the future, Creston Cab is looking to review drivers on a regular basis to ensure company policies and procedures are being followed.
