Creston RCMP responded to 86 calls for service from Sept. 12-18, RCMP office manager Chris Harland said on Sept. 19.

September 12

•An unapproved all-night rave was held in the 10100 block of Highway 3A. It was apparently promoted through social media outlets and participants followed signs along the highway that said “Meow”, “Meow Meow” and “Meow Meow Meow”, the later being posted at the entrance to the party.

•A resident in the 1400 block of Lipitzki Road reported that shots have been fired in the vicinity of the power line for the last six months.

•A complainant reported that people routinely smoke marijuana in front of a 16th Avenue South residence.

•A male became angry when he was refused a free room at a local hotel. When police located him he was waiting for a bus that would take him out of town.

September 13

•A concerned resident reported finding litter and a Playboy magazine in the 1300 block of 15th Avenue South, believing the items could indicate a sexual predator is in the area.

•Police were unable to locate a male reported to be intoxicated and swinging a stick at passing vehicles in the 3300 block of Highway 3.

•Police arrested an intoxicated male who was yelling and breaking bottles in the 800 block of Northwest Boulevard. He was co-operative, but another intoxicated male arrived on the scene to interfere. Both were held overnight in police cells and released when sober.

•When a patrolling officer noticed a male who kept falling off a Canyon Street bench, he was arrested for being drunk in public and held in police cells until sober.

September 14

•Six youths who crossed the border into the United Sates near Rykerts on Highway 21 were taken into custody by U.S. law enforcement personnel.

•A blue pickup truck passed a school bus displaying its flashing lights on Ninth Avenue in front of Adam Robertson Elementary School. Drivers are reminded that school is back in and it is an offense to pass a school bus when its lights are flashing and the stop sign is displayed. Passing is dangerous when the buses are stopped because children could be coming around the front of the bus to cross the road.

•Police are investigating a report by a third party that a death threat was made by a male.

September 15

•When a patrolling police officer witnessed a vehicle making turns without signaling the driver was pulled over. He was found to be intoxicated and issued a 90-day driving prohibition. His vehicle was impounded for 30 days. He also spent the night in police cells.

•Police were asked to check on the well-being of an elderly male on 11th Avenue South who missed a medical appointment. He was OK.

•An angry male who was refused service at a Canyon Street business broke the glass in the business’s front door.

•A vehicle that was stopped on Canyon Street because the occupants weren’t wearing seatbelts was found to have open liquor under a seat.

September 16

•The passport of a Quebec resident was found in the 300 block of 33rd Avenue North.

•Weed Wacker line and sandpaper valued at $14 were shoplifted from a business in the 1600 block of Northwest Boulevard. The culprit was identified with security cameras and will be banned from the store.

•Police are investigating a robbery in the 1300 block of Highway 3A. A male entered the business and forced an employee to open a till. The thief took the cash, knocked the till off the counter and fled the scene.

•Speed was a factor when an Alberta vehicle went over the bank near a bridge in the 9100 block of Highway 3. Several tickets were issued to the uninjured driver.

September 17

•An intoxicated male who left a Balsam Road residence on a dirt bike returned home the next day unharmed.

•A resident in the 13300 block of Highway 3A reported losing $18,000 on a fraudulent Internet sale.

•A ring with a tourmaline stone, valued at $300, was lost in the 2400 block of Highway 3A.

•An intoxicated male who was throwing things and making threats in the 15900 block of Highway 3A was arrested and held in police cells until sober.

September 18

•An aggressive male on Aldrich Road refused Emergency Health Services offer to transport him to the hospital.

•A suspect has been identified in a deer-poaching incident in area around Osborne Road and 46th Street.
