An announcement and groundbreaking ceremony for a new family housing project is scheduled for 10 a.m. Aug. 12.
The project will be constructed at 215 25th Ave. S. with funding from the governments of Canada and B.C., Columbia Basin Trust (CBT) and the Creston Valley Community Housing Society (CVCHS). In attendance will be Kootenay-Columbia MP David Wilks, Kootenay East MLA Bill Bennett, Creston Mayor Ron Toyota and representatives of CBT and CVCHS.
BC Housing, the provincial Crown corporation that oversees community housing projects, refused to provide further details to inform readers prior to the public announcement.
