Twenty-four teams competed in the 49th annual Valentine Bonspiel at the Creston Curling Centre. For a few of the teams, the weekend lasted a bit longer than they expected.
“The A and B events tied and went to an extra end,” said Trish Marshall, the Creston Curling Centre’s marketing director.
The A event was won by the Gloria Pickering rink from Cranbrook, following a tiebreaker that saw the Laurie Heald team from Creston take second.
The B event tiebreaker saw Angie Pawson’s Creston team win the event, with the rink skipped by Creston’s Bev Pommier coming in second.
The Leslie Milan team from Kimberley won the C event, while Creston’s Marlys Joy team won the D event.
“All the final games in all four events were very close,” said Marshall.
