Creston RCMP are seeking information following an alleged break and enter and alleged assault, which resulted in the arrest of two males.

Brenton Chambers, 21, and Travis Hennessy, 22, have been remanded to custody and will appear, respectively, in Cranbrook Law Courts and Creston Law Courts to face several charges.

Police were called to Creston home when a resident and friends arrived at the residence just as suspects who broke into the home were leaving.

“The home occupant and a friend were alleged to have been assaulted when they disrupted the break and enter,” said Cpl. Monty Taylor in the release.

The occupant apprehended one suspect, but the other fled and was arrested on Tuesday, after which an investigation revealed the pair was allegedly involved in unreported violent offences prior to the break and enter.

“The two suspects were reported to be at a party where they became involved in physical altercations with local residents,” said Taylor. “A male was assaulted by one of the suspects and had his necklace stolen, and another male was struck over the head with a glass bottle. The male who was hit with the bottle was transported to the Creston hospital where he received stitches to his wound.”

Chambers is slated to appear in Cranbrook court on May 2 on charges of robbery, breaking and entering, and two counts of assault. Hennessy is scheduled for Creston court on April 29 on charges of assault with a weapon, aggravated assault, breaking and entering, and two counts of assault.

Anyone with information regarding the above incidents is asked to contact the Creston RCMP at 250-428-9313.
