Highlights of the Creston RCMP week of service from May 7-12, reported by Cpl. Charlotte Joa (the first part can be found here):
May 10
•A male who picked up his child at school while smelling of marijuana was warned about his actions.
•A male who drove his vehicle over the bank 11 kilometres east of Creston on Highway 3 was rescued and taken to hospital for observation. He was not injured but an impaired driving investigation is underway.
May 11
•A male accused of assaulting two other males on Aldrich Road faces criminal charges.
•Police were unable to investigate a bush party on Lloyd Road because they were chasing the youths reported here.
May 12
•A group of about 10 youths reported they were playing “cops and robbers”, a game in which they tried to avoid detection of vehicle occupants as they made their way from Tim Hortons to the Creston Valley Mall. They were warned to stay off private property and told to carry on when police determined they had not been consuming alcohol.
•Police are investigating a smashed window at Canyon Country Store.
•An 84-year-old male died suddenly at his Highway 21 residence, apparently of natural causes.
•Police could not locate a driver reported to be impaired on Canyon-Lister Road.
•A complaint from Simon Road about ongoing unwanted text messages is being investigated.
•An intoxicated female was arrested for assault on Northwest Boulevard following a domestic dispute.
•Police were called to a house fire on 25th Avenue South, where they maintained traffic and crowd control.
•A rock was thrown through a window at Adam Robertson Elementary School.
•A Yahk resident was arrested under the Mental Health Act after making threats. He was taken to hospital for assessment.
•When police responded to a report of 15 people involved in a fight on Canyon Street, no one could be found.
