Creston RCMP responded to 54 calls for service from April 20-26, Cpl. Monty Taylor said on Monday.
April 20
•The driver of a white dual-wheeled truck ignored the directions of a flagger at the Northwest Boulevard construction site and made a turn, clipping the flagger’s sign in the process.
•A Canyon Street South resident complained about noise from the highway construction.
•A vehicle was rear-ended at Canyon Street and 20th Avenue when the driver stopped for a pedestrian.
•An “out of hand” party at 11th Avenue and Ash Street dispersed when police arrived.
April 21
•Police are investigating a complaint about an ethnic comment made on Facebook. The commenter has been identified.
•In an apparent attempt to break into a seasonal cabin in the 11000 block of Highway 3A, a door was damaged, but no theft occurred. Police are investigating a similar incident and have identified a suspect.
•A suspicious Land Rover was reported to be driving slowly between Millennium and Centennial parks.
•An unwanted female visitor to a Cavell Street residence has been warned to stay away or risk arrest.
•A female youth reportedly sent nude photos of herself to an Internet correspondent upon request.
•A male resident of 11th Avenue South reported a former roommate had stolen his vehicle registration papers, possibly with the intent to commit a fraud.
•A male reported receiving two calls asking about drugs. The caller was not from the Creston area.
•A Northwest Boulevard resident complained about the sound of music and footsteps from an adjacent apartment.
April 22
•A male driver was arrested after his vehicle left Canyon-Lister Road and struck the deck of a house. He fled, leaving two passengers behind, but returned while police were on the scene. He was given tickets totalling more than $800 for driving without due care and attention, failing to keep to the right and failing to remain at the scene of an incident. No injuries were reported.
•A Chevrolet pickup that went off Valleyview Drive and down a bank was towed away when the owner was not located.
•Police were called when a male who was cut off from his disability payments for failing to disclose an inheritance threatened to burn down his house.
April 23
•When police conducted a well-being check on a male for a neighbour, they learned he had died in the hospital.
•A suspect has been identified after a male kicked in a door on Simon Road, causing about $400 in damage.
•Police are investigating a female’s complaint about unwanted contact by a male.
•A witness reported that the driver of a red Dodge pickup backed into a Ford Explorer on 10th Avenue North, then left the scene. He returned on foot, set the Explorer’s bumper back in place and then left again. The investigation continues.
•A vehicle collided with a deer in the 2000 block of Highway 21.
•An investigation is underway after a driver complained of being tailgated by an aggressive driver of a silver truck. A licence plate number was provided.
•Police were called when a female left her partner’s vehicle and began to walk down the highway. She had expressed second thoughts about moving from Calgary to Trail. She eventually agreed to give Trail a try, but promised to move back to Calgary if she wasn’t happy.
April 24
•A male and female were reported to be arguing on Erickson Road but police concluded no violence had taken place.
•When a male sleeping in a business entrance downtown was checked, police learned he was from Virginia and that he had entered Canada illegally. The deportation process is underway.
•The driver of a vehicle pulling a trailer carrying an excavator cut a corner too sharply in the 3500 block of Highway 3A and went into the ditch. The excavator was damaged but there were no injuries.
•A male driver whose vehicle was stuck near Sunset Boulevard was found to have been consuming alcohol. He was issued a 24-hour driving prohibition and the vehicle was towed.
April 25
•Two intoxicated males who had been in a fight forced their way into the hospital at 3:30 a.m., then left when police were called. They did not return.
•Three male youths reported to be lighting fires near 16th Avenue South were located nearby by police. They were arrested for mischief and then turned over to their parents.
•The apartment resident on Northwest Boulevard once again complained about the sound of her neighbours walking next door.
•Four female youths near Millennium Park were reported to be intoxicated but a police check revealed they were not. They were sent on their way home.
April 26
•A trailer was spray-painted in the 300 block of 16th Avenue South. Police are investigating.
•A female reported a threat to kill her barking dog.
•A male reported that a female was on his Erickson Road property with a video camera. She told police she was concerned about his spraying of an orchard and wanted to know what he was spraying and when. The neighbour agreed to notify her when he is going to spray.
•Police did not locate a group of youths reported to be damaging the grain elevators on Northwest Boulevard.
