The Creston RCMP detachment is located on 16th Avenue South.

Creston RCMP were kept busy on April 23 and 24 with 16 complaints about unlocked parked vehicles being entered, with minor thefts and no damage being reported.

One resident chased three youths away from his Canyon Street property, but police have no confirmed suspects in the flurry of incidents.

“In some cases items of value, like purses and GPS units, were left untouched,” Staff Sgt. Bob Gollan said this morning.

Some vehicle owners reported having coins stolen from their vehicles but only one, a 25th Avenue South resident, reported other items stolen, including CDs, a pocketknife and a box of garbage bags.

The incidents were reported by residents on Fifth, Sixth and 10th avenues north, Alder Street, Regina Street, Canyon Street, Hurl Street, Dogwood Street, Cedar Street, Hillside Street, and 20th and 25th avenues south.
