Highlights of the Creston RCMP week of service from May 7-12, reported by Cpl. Charlotte Joa:

May 7

•A vehicle found in a ditch in the 1300 block of Highway 3 was towed when police found no insurance or documents inside to indicate the vehicle’s ownership.

•No injuries resulted in a car-deer collision on Highway 3A near Kuskanook.

•A female caught shoplifting at a Cook Street store has been referred to the community restorative justice program.

•A female complained that a male was refusing to leave her Erickson Road residence, but he left before police arrived.

•An intoxicated male who refused to leave a Highway 95 residence was arrested and held in police cells until sober.

•A male who was camping overnight in bushes near Seventh Avenue North was told to move on after complaints from a resident.

May 8

•A female claiming to be the owner of the vehicle towed from the ditch on Highway 3 on the previous day appeared at the police station, wanting to know why she wasn’t informed her vehicle had been stolen. She was told police had found no evidence of theft or ownership of the vehicle.

•A 10-foot green aluminum canoe valued at $400 was reported stolen from a boat launch on Duck Lake.

•A 911 call was made by a student at Adam Robertson Elementary School for no apparent reason.

•An ongoing problem of damage to street signs on Canyon-Lister Road was reported.

•A two-year-old girl found on Erickson Road was reunited with her mother a short time later.

May 9

•A female driver who was stopped by police on Eighth Avenue South was found to have no insurance and a stolen licence plate. She is being charged with possession of stolen property and the vehicle was towed.

•A person attempting to make a call to England dialed 911 by mistake.

•A theft of $3,000 worth of timber was reported on Goat River Road.

•A witness of a hit and run followed the offending vehicle to an Aldrich Road residence, where police arrested a male and charged him with failing to remain at the scene.

•An intoxicated male who made threats was arrested on Fifth Avenue South and held overnight in police cells.
