Creston RCMP deal with numerous alcohol-related issues

Among Creston RCMP’s 62 files opened from October 24-30 were numerous alchol-related incidents.

Creston RCMP responded to 62 calls for assistance from October 24-30, including numerous alcohol-related incidents, Cpl. Darren Kakuno said on Tuesday.

October 24

• After stopping an uninsured truck on Northwest Boulevard an officer noted signs of impairment from the driver. Following a roadside screening test he was issued a seven-day driving prohibition and the vehicle was impounded.

• No signs of impairment were noted in a check stop on Highway 3A in Wynndel.

October 25

• A vehicle on 11th Avenue North was keyed overnight.

• A female was arrested on 15th Avenue North for being intoxicated in a public place. She was held in cells until sober and given a ticket for her behaviour.

• A male was arrested on Birch Street for being intoxicated in a public place. He was held in cells until sober and given a ticket for his behavior.

• Police are investigating complaint of threats in Crawford Bay.

October 26

• When a driver experienced mechanical problems with his trailer he left it at the side of Highway 3 west of Creston. He returned two days later to find the 20-foot PJ flat deck trailer had been stolen.

• Police received a complaint from a female on Riverview Road that a male who had previously threatened her was refusing to leave her residence. He was intercepted in his vehicle when police arrived and showed signs of impairment. After failing a roadside screening test he was given an immediate driving prohibition.

October 27

• Two males were arrested and held until sober after an altercation on Mallory Place in Lister.

• When RCMP members located a male who kicked a door in at an 11th Avenue South residence they determined he was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for breach of parole. He was arrested and additional charges of break and entering and mischief have been recommended to the Crown.

• An investigation is underway after a male on Riley Road in Erickson was approached by three men, accused of being on private property and threatened with bodily harm.

October 28

• A suspected impaired driver was stopped on Northwest Boulevard. He failed a roadside screening test and was given a 90-day driving prohibition. The vehicle was impounded for 30 days.

October 29

• A report of an unwanted male guest at a 12th Avenue South address led to a arrest when police determined he was also breaching his court conditions.

• A 19th Avenue North resident left his green 2002 regular cab Chevrolet Silverado running. Upon his return, he saw someone driving it away, heading south toward Highway 3.

October 30

• A resident in the 4600 block of Highway 3 reported that boards have been ripped from his fence.
