Country music star Duane Steel will take to the 3-Eh stage this Saturday evening as the summer music concerts on the site draw close to the end.

Born in Hines Creek AB, Steele has been performing professionally since 1984, when he joined the Edmonton-based Rock ‘N’ Horse. The band earned a Juno Award nomination for Country Group of the Year.

In 1993 Steele moved to Nashville to launch a solo singing and songwriting career, and two years later he signed with Mercury Records Canadian division, which released his first solo album, P.O. Box 423. His single, Anita Got Married, hit Number 1 on a Canadian country music chart. He has had more Top 30 singles, and toured Canada and the US extensively since then.

In 2001 Steele was named Independent Male Vocalist of the Year by the Canadian Country Music Association.

Creston’s Jackie Gingras will open Saturday night’s concert. Advance tickets are $25 and are available at the Ramada Inn and Conference Centre.
