Creston RCMP responded to 63 calls for service from February 13-20 in another week where alcohol was a common theme, Staff Sgt. Ryan Currie said on Tuesday.
February 13
• A road rage incident near Yahk amped up to a physical altercation between two truck drivers when they each disapproved of the others’ driving habits. One driver sustained injuries to his head and face. Charges are being considered.
February 14
• An impaired driver in Creston was issued a 90-day driving prohibition and the vehicle was impounded for 30 days.
• Patrolling police spotted a female who appeared to be lost and possibly intoxicated. When she could not locate her residence and would not provide her name, she was arrested and placed in cells until sober.
February 15
• When police were called to assist in locating a missing female they were immediately successful. She was in a cell from the previous night.
• Police were asked for assistance about a family dispute over child custody.
February 16
• A family dispute that created a disturbance in a local business required police intervention.
• Police were called to assist in a domestic dispute involving a couple arguing about vodka.
February 17
• Two people were unhappy when police would not attend to help resolve their dispute over the ownership rights of a bong.
• A family dispute was put to an end when an intoxicated participant left the residence.
February 18
• When police observed a vehicle swerving on Highway 3 near Creston they determined the driver had been consuming alcohol. Failed breath tests led to a 90-day prohibition and 30-day vehicle impoundment.
February 19
• Police were called to mediate an argument about a civil issue that elevated into one disputant allegedly threatening the other.
• Police responded to the assault of a caregiver in a residence.
• A domestic assault complaint was investigated.
