“Surprisingly quiet” is how Creston RCMP Staff Sgt. Bob Gollan describes the Creston Valley Blossom Festival weekend.

“I had extra staff on because of all the events going on,” he said. “But we didn’t even get a single call about Kootenanny, which was to be held at Holbrook Falls on Highway 3A. I know they didn’t have the necessary permits from the RDCK in place on Saturday morning, but I really couldn’t say whether it actually happened.”

Of greater concern, Gollan said, was a string of five break and entries to businesses last week. However, he reported that the suspect has been arrested in Cranbrook.

Break and entries were reported last week at Dairy Queen, A Break in Time Caffé, 7-Eleven, Mane and Nails, and ABC Country Restaurant.
