Tanya Wall has been elected to her second term as Regional Director for Area B in the Regional District of Central Kootenay. The former Creston Town Councillor picked up nearly 56 percent of the votes, garnering a total of 536. She defeated Creston businessman Keith Goforth. Goforth received 421 votes.
In Area C, where three candidates were vying for a seat previously held by Larry Binks, Adam Casemore prevailed. The previous Creston Town Councillor took 188 votes, beating Creston businessman Tony Mulder (118) and the retired Elvin Rempel (95).
In the race to fill two positions on the School District No. 8 (Kootenay Lake) Board of Trustees in the South Rural Zone, incumbent Cody Beebe (756) and challenger Allan Gribbin (699) have been elected. They defeated incumbent and former Chair of the Board of Trustees Rebecca Huscroft (599).
