UPDATE: Hwy 3 now re-opened in both directions near Yahk

A snowplow collision caused a 7-hour closure

After a closure of over seven hours, Highway 3 (Crowsnest Highway) is now fully open in both directions between Moyie River Yahk Bridge and Yahk-Meadow Creek Road.

A collision between a Mainroad snowplow and a pickup truck caused delays near Yahk, between Creston and Cranbrook, as officials stopped traffic to check the bridge's integrity.

Bystanders reported minor injuries to the truck's driver.

Due to this incident, tonight's game between the Creston Valley Thunder Cats and Kimberly Dynamiters was cancelled and will be rescheduled for a later date.

Travellers are advised to check drivebc.ca for road reports and updates on major highway events.
