Taylor Schmideder is moving on to the BCIHL.

Creston Valley Thunder Cats captain Taylor Schmideder is taking the next step in his hockey career. 

He recently signed with the Logan Lake Miners of the British Columbia Intercollegiate Hockey League (BCIHL) for the upcoming fall season.

The 20-year-old forward wrapped up a strong final season in the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League (KIJHL) with the Thunder Cats, posting career highs with eight goals, 15 assists, and 23 points. He added another four points in six Teck Cup playoff appearances.

Originally from Kimberley, Schmideder played 145 regular season games in the KIJHL, tallying 20 goals and 27 assists for 47 points. In 25 playoff games, he notched seven points. He began his junior hockey journey with the Fernie Ghostriders during the 2021-22 season.

Before joining the KIJHL, Schmideder developed his skills with the East Kootenay Avalanche U18AA program.
