Creston Valley Music Teachers' Association presents annual concert

Better Together is set for Feb. 2

The Creston Valley Music Teachers' Association (CVMTA) warmly invites everyone to attend its annual concert next week.

Better Together will hit the stage on Sunday, Feb. 2 at 2 p.m. at the Kootenay River Auditorium. Entry is by donation, and all are welcome.

The annual CVMTA concert raises money for two local funds, assisting children and youth in the community - the Monte Anderson Scholarship Fund (est. 2009), which aids students who advance to music studies at the university level; and the Anita Stushnoff Bursary (est. 2022), which helps support local music students in attending summer camps and workshops.

The afternoon concert will be full of variety and fun, and it presents an opportunity to watch and hear local music teachers in action. It will also mark the official retirement of Monte Anderson from the conductorship of the Creston Community Band. Bravo, Monte!

We look forward to welcoming you to this event, a wonderful way to support the strong and ongoing legacy of music education in the Creston Valley.
