Aimee Watson acclaimed to seventh term as RDCK board chair

Regional District of Central Kootenay (RDCK) Electoral Area D Director Aimee Watson will serve another term as board chair for the regional district.

Watson was acclaimed to the position at the district's Nov. 14 board meeting. She has been a director for 10 years and this will be her seventh term serving as board chair.

“I would like to thank the board for their continued support and trust in allowing me to lead such a hard-working group who are so dedicated to their communities,” said Aimee Watson. “It is an honour, and I am truly inspired to work with this group, and I look forward to supporting everyone over the next year.”

RDCK Director Aidan McLaren-Caux was elected as vice-chair. McLaren-Caux has been a member of the RDCK Board since 2022 and also serves as a councilor for the Village of Nakusp.

“I am grateful for the opportunity and humbled by the support of my peers, and I am looking forward to working with the board and staff to serve our residents over the coming year,” said Aidan McLaren-Caux.

Terms for the chair and vice-chair positions last one year.

Residents are encouraged to join RDCK board meetings virtually or in person on the third Thursday of each month at 9 a.m. Agendas and minutes of the meetings are available at RDCK.ca.
