Singers seek the top at Reach for the Mic

Congratulations to the winners of the 2nd Annual Reach for the Mic.

Eighteen singers advanced to the final round of the second-annual Creston Valley Arts Council’s singing competition, held Oct. 27 at Kootenay River Auditorium.

During the final round, each singer performed one song for the judges, who chose the first-, second- and third-place winners. Tim Noah, from Seattle, Washington; Rachel DeShon from Nelson, and Pat Henman, from Nelson.

And when all was said and sung:

First place: Hillaree Blackmore; second place: MarySan Maplamchang; third place: Kailynn Gill. Entertainer Award: Celeste Reynolds (pictured); People’s Choice Award: Kelly Mehrer
